Jack's 28 years in the computer industry in MA morphed from engineering into marketing, management, and management consulting. His work included a lot of travel around the US, Europe, and East Asia to confer with large manufacturing industry customers and consulting  projects with the US military.

He retired in 2007 and enjoys traveling and gardening with MaryAnne, canoeing and fishing, chopping wood for the stove, and selling out-of-print and rare books on the internet. A treat is harvesting fruits and vegetables in the summer and fall including raspberries, grapes, Japanese pears and Mongolian kiwis. Jack participated in archaeological digs in Peru, Chile, Easter Island, Belize, Honduras and Grenada and has toured Maya and Inca ruins in Central and South America. In the Spring of 2009, he made an 800 mile trek on the Appalachian Trail in the States of GA, TN, NC and VA.
